REBOOTING… WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM ACTIVATED TEA!
The word detox is everywhere lately, with people substituting full meals with only juice, tea, or something similar in order to flush the impurities out of their bodies. But ask yourself this: How does that even work? To my knowledge and understanding, no single food (or lack thereof) has the ability to “detoxify” the organs fully.
I suggest that instead of a detox, you shift your thinking a bit and do a reboot. By reboot, I mean a engaging in a process that restores your body and energy through well-balanced nutrition. And here, we are incorporating a special activated tea– something that can become a habit and lifestyle. Because we all can use a little extra help here and there, and this tea does just that. Below, find a beautifully crafted recipe that helps pull toxins and carry them out of the body, all while alkalizing the body and supporting the organs.
What’s the ‘activated’ part of this, you ask? It’s activated charcoal, which is an adsorber, not absorber. It amazingly adsorbs most organic toxins, chemicals & poisons before they can harm the body. A word of caution, though: as the activated charcoal pulls out the bad stuff it can also pull out the good stuff we need, like vitamins & minerals! So it is highly advised to drink this tea at night while the body is resting. The dandelion root promotes digestion, stimulates appetite, and balances the natural and beneficial bacteria in the intestines. It is a superfood and diuretic that helps the kidneys and liver clear out waste, salt, and excess water by increasing urine production. Lemons are alkaline-forming on body fluids, helping restore balance to the body’s pH; they’re also rich in vitamin C and help clean your bowels. Ginger is an amazing anti-inflammatory which helps relax and soothe the intestinal tract. And to top it off, cayenne’s amazing anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties gives this tea a little extra kick to that reboot!
Activated Night Tea
- 1 dandelion root tea bag
- juice ½ lemon
- ¼ tsp grated ginger
- 1 capsule (opened) Activated Charcoal (about 1/8 tsp powder)
- dash of cayenne
Boil water and pour in a large mug over all ingredients. Let steep about 5 minutes. Drink up!
