After a full summer of fun with my kids, I cannot fit into my pants or stop stuffing my face with pizza. Any advice to get back into a healthy routine?
Thank God Winter Is Coming
First, pat yourself on the back for a job well done. You enjoyed your summer! That’s music to my ears. Why don’t you give yourself one last treat and join me for a Brut Rosé?
You need to stop beating yourself up, my dear. Life is supposed to be enjoyed. We work so hard during the school year. Schlepping kids back and forth at all sorts of ungodly hours, and over committing to all kinds of B.S. social activities…you certainly need a break by the time summer rolls around. I am glad you enjoyed it.
My advice, after this first rosé, is to have another…and then, start to think about some routines you can reignite. Exercising while the kids are at school is a good one. Find a walking partner to spend some time with and burn some calories together. Get on Pinterest and look up some healthy recipes and put a few new ones on the rotation. And stop drinking during the week. Wait… I don’t know if I believe I just said that or not, but it may work for you and your goals (I wouldn’t know from experience). Just take it one step at a time.
Moderation is key here. You’ll be back to PTA fundraiser shape in no time. But promise not to kill yourself over those little indulgences. Those are what make life good!
